Woman Charged With DWI In Sag Harbor After Crashing Into Street Sign, Fence — Then Overturning: PD

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Sag Harbor woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into a street sign and a fence before her vehicle overturned, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, on Thursday at 7:02 p.m., officers responded to the area of Noyac Road near Valley Road in Sag Harbor after a report of a one-car motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers found a 2019 Lexus, which had run off the roadway after colliding with a street sign, police said. The driver then left the scene and continued on Noyac Road where the vehicle again ran off the roadway and collided with a fence before overturning, police said.

An investigation revealed that Carolyn M. Magliochetti, 67, of Sag Harbor was operating in an intoxicated condition, police said. She was arrested and then transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

She was charged with misdemeanor DWI, leaving the scene of a crash, an infraction, and several other traffic infractions, police said.

She was processed and held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
