Head-On Collision Leads To Putnam County Man's Arrest For Aggravated DWI: NYSP
The 39-year-old Brewster man was more than twice the legal limit after the Friday night crash in the Town of Patterson, according to NYSP.

TOWN OF PATTERSON, NY — A bad start to the holiday weekend has led to the arrest of Putnam County man.
The New York State Police say that troopers from Brewster were dispatched on July 3, around 10:47 a.m., to the area of Lake Shore Drive and Camden Road, in the Town of Patterson, after receiving a report of a two-vehicle collision with injuries.
After an investigation, troopers determined that a 2011 Chevrolet, driven by 39-year-old Alfredo A. Martinez, of Brewster, was traveling north on Lake Shore Drive when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2021 Subaru head-on. The Subaru was driven by 45-year-old Christopher Malizia, of Brewster.

Martinez was not injured in the collision. Malizia and his passenger were evaluated at the scene and released.
Troopers report noticing Martinez exhibiting signs of intoxication. After standardized field sobriety tests were administered, he was arrested and taken to SP Brewster for processing. Martinez submitted to a chemical breath test, which yielded a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent, according to police.

He was charged with misdemeanor aggravated driving while intoxicated, misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, misdemeanor reckless driving, and violations of traffic laws.
Martinez is scheduled to appear in the Town of Patterson Court on August 5.
