2 Officers Injured, Westbury Man Arrested After Traffic Stop Turns Violent: PD
Police said the man was combative while resisting arrest.
JERICHO, NY — A Westbury man was arrested after an incident during a vehicle traffic law stop on Friday evening in Jericho, police said.
Nassau County police said officers observed a grey 2006 Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound on Roxbury Road in the vicinity of Jericho Turnpike, and initiated a vehicle traffic law stop at approximately 8 p.m.
During the investigation, the driver, Edwin Zetina, 44, became irate, combative, and refused to exit his vehicle, police said. During the course of the arrest, two police officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries as Zetina was violent and combative while resisting arrest, police said.

The officers were transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
Zetina was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, and multiple VTL violations, police said. He was arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
