French Café Bids Adieu To The UES: 'Beautiful Memories Remain'

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A French bakery and cafe known for croissants, baguette sandwiches and an evening supper club has closed its Upper East Side location after four years in business.

Le Petit Parisien, located at 355 E. 78th St. between First and Second avenues, has permanently closed, according to a notice posted at the restaurant.

During the day, Le Petit Parisien served coffee, croissants and French sandwiches.

In the evenings from Wednesday through Sunday, the space transformed into Supper Club by Le Petit Parisien, serving a rotating seasonal menu of French dishes and wine.

"Thank you for the many small and BIG moments," the notice reads. The East 78th Street storefront opened in 2022. "Allowing us to accompany you and your friends was a privilege."

The owners have not publicly confirmed a reason for the closure.

"We are closing but the beautiful memories remain," the sign reads.
