UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police were searching Friday for a suspect after a woman was attacked with an umbrella in Lenox Hill, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the 24-year-old woman was in front of 1267 First Ave., between East 68th Street and East 69th Street, on Feb. 20 at 4:25 p.m. when a man hit her in the back with an umbrella.

Then, the suspect ran away from the location, heading downtown toward East 67th Street, police said.

Police said that the victim refused medical attention at the scene.

Police said the investigation is underway, and that no suspects have been arrested yet. Police released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public's help in identifying the perpetrator.
