UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Emerald Inn, a family-owned pub on the Upper West Side, has poured its very last drink after 82 years in business, according to media reports.
The Emerald Inn, located at at 250 West 72nd St., between Broadway and West End Avenue, was opened in 1943, Charlie Campbell, the current owner, said on a GoFundMe page posted on Thanksgiving.
"We’ve fallen behind on our bills and rent, and like many small businesses, we’re still recovering from the long-lasting impact of Covid-19," Campbell wrote.

"Our business has suffered significant losses, and we are now reaching out to our community for support."
The pub had hoped to reach a $100,000 fundraiser goal and stay open, but fell short and made the decision to close, according to the West Side Rag.
