UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A police officer on horseback chased down and arrested a woman who snatched a victim's purse on the Upper West Side, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the officer was patrolling near West 72nd Street and Columbus Avenue when he heard the robbery take place on Wednesday morning.

In bodycam footage released Thursday, the officer is seen galloping after the suspect on his horse, Kelly, until a witness stops the woman.

The officer then arrested Felicia Field, 44, and the victim's purse was returned, police said.

"Whether on foot or on hooves, our officers are always ready," the NYPD wrote on its X account (formerly Twitter).
