Mermaid Inn Restaurateurs To Open New UWS Eatery: Report

The owners have signed the lease on a former pizzeria on West 74th Street.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The owners of Mermaid Inn, a New England-style seafood restaurant on the Upper West Side, will open a second location in the neighborhood, according to a report from the Commercial Observer.

According to the Commercial Observer, Danny Abrams and Cindy Smith will take over the restaurant space at 61 West 74th St. between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West.

The 2,300-square-foot space was previously occupied by Patsy's Pizzeria, which closed in January due to rising costs, West Side Rag reported.

Abrams and Smith opened the current iteration of Mermaid Inn on Columbus Avenue in 2024, after closing their Amsterdam Avenue location in 2022, Commercial Observer reported.

No word on the concept for the space yet.
