Seaford Senior Stranded In Park Woods While Looking For Model Plane: PD

A Seaford man was stranded in a stretch of woods Friday after losing his model airplane among the trees, police said.

SEAFORD, NY — A 70-year-old man was airlifted to the hospital Friday after he was stranded in the woods at Cedar Creek Park while looking for his model airplane, police said.

Nassau County police did not identify the man, but said that he had walked into a wooded area of the park near the aerodrome field to pull his model airplane from the trees. After entering the woods, police said the man could not find his way out.

In response, Nassau County police emergency and aviation personnel — along with an NYPD aviation unit — went to the park to search for the man. He was found conscious and alert, police said, but airlifted to the hospital for treatment and evaluation.
