Man Charged With Felony DWI In Hampton Bays: Police
He's facing a felony charge, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated on Tuesday, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 7:53 p.m.; a call came in about a vehicle traveling westbound on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, and failing to maintain its lane of travel.
A Southampton Town police officer located the vehicle in the vicinity of East Montauk Highway and Old Riverhead Road and conducted a traffic stop, police said.

The driver, Gerber Alexis Lopez-Garcia, 31, of Hampton Bays, was determined to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated, police said.
Lopez-Garcia was arrested and transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing, police said.

He was charged with aggravated DWI, a felony, and several other New York State vehicle and traffic law violations, police said.
Lopez-Garcia was held overnight and is scheduled to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court for morning arraignment, police said.
