LONG ISLAND, NY — Don't put away those snow shovels yet: After a day spent snow-blowing and shoveling Tuesday, Long Islanders woke up to yet another blast of winter Wednesday morning.
And that snow meant new accumulation.

The NWS said Wednesday morning that a band of moderate to heavy snow was set to continue across the area. Visibilities were slated to be reduced to a half mile or less at times.
"The snow should taper off from west to east by 1 1 a.m. When encountering the heavy snow, slow down, use headlights, and leave extra room between you and the car in front of you," the NWS said.
