Highly-Respected Yorktown Artist Showcases Her Stunning Photo Art at Club Fit Gallery
Visitors Admire the Creativity of Andrea Polivy's Work as She Captures the American Southwest and More at "Towers of Light" Event

In 2011, photo artist Andrea Polivy went with friends to a number of national parks in the American Southwest states of Utah and Arizona. In addition to having a great time away, Ms. Polivy captured the brilliant imagery and beauty through her camera lens. Andrea Polivy, who had a strong interest in photography at the age of seven, worked as a graphic artist for many years before becoming a full-time photographer in 2008. Three years later, on this "working vacation", Andrea captured photos that were simply magical.

Fast forward to 2026, the gallery in Club Fit Jefferson Valley on Bank Avenue in Yorktown was the place to be on March 14 to see the photo art from that excursion, and it didn't disappoint attendees at this "Meet the Artist" night, which was called "Towers of Light," named after one of Andrea's pieces. At this showcase, 18 of her top pieces were displayed, most being from that 2011 southwest visit, plus other pieces of autumn in the Hudson Valley and signage in New York City.

"When my photos are shown to the world, it always makes me nervously excited, " said Polovy. "But I can truly see that they have a strong interest, because they ask questions and they come right out and say what they see and love about them."

Andrea talks to various guests at her showcase.
At the March 14 Club Fit event, Andrea was visited by an old friend Mercedes Montalbetti, whom she's known since 1979. Following her graduation from college in Boston, Andrea had moved around a lot and she made it ouit to Los Angeles. This is when she met Mercedes, so Andrea was thrilled when Mercedes showed up with two of her daughters from Brooklyn.

"I'm so proud of Andrea," said Mercedes. "Andrea has been my friend for decades, and she's such a heartfelt, beautiful person. I'm so proud of her, I love her work."
On this chilly mid-March evening, seeing Andrea's work warmed the hearts of everyone who came, studied her photography, were fully engaged and enjoyed champagne. A perfect night all around.
