Meet Sales Director Amanda Bates!

With a ten-year career at Windsor Run, Sales Director Amanda Bates specializes in helping prospective residents feel informed and supported

Windsor Run, an Erickson Senior Living community in Matthews, N.C., is pleased to announce the promotion of Amanda Bates to sales director!

Bates, who most recently served as the community's sales manager, boasts more than a decade of experience in the senior living industry. She began her career at Windsor Run in October 2015 as a sales event associate--before the community was open.

"What excites me most is having the opportunity to grow alongside Windsor Run," says Bates. "I've seen Windsor Run evolve from a sales center on farmland to a thriving community. To step into this new role and reflect on that growth, both for the community and personally, is incredibly meaningful."

Onwards and upwards

Following her move to Charlotte, N.C., Bates started looking for an event planning role. She applied for the sales event associate position at Windsor Run and was offered the job.

"After learning more about the community that was being built, I was excited to become part of the team," she recalls.

In this role, Bates helped introduce prospective residents to the vibrant, worry-free lifestyle that Windsor Run offers through well-planned events and presentations, building many strong connections that would become a hallmark of her career.

She later advanced to events coordinator and then to planning and moving consultant, working closely with future residents as they prepared for their move.

"As a planning and moving consultant, I was supporting residents during one of the most important moves in their lives," she says. "That experience taught me how important it is to truly listen."

Bates was later promoted to sales manager, expanding her responsibilities to include leading community tours, hosting informational presentations, and supporting both prospective and future residents.

People-centered leadership

Now, Bates has the opportunity to apply her leadership skills and everything she's learned over the past decade as sales director.

"Because I served in many sales roles, I can relate to what each team member experiences day-to-day and offer guidance," she says. "I like to be hands-on when needed, but I also believe in creating opportunities for others to grow, just as I was given the chance to do throughout my career."

Bates' leadership approach is grounded in collaboration, open communication, and empathy.

"One of the things we hear most often is how welcoming and supportive our team is," she says. "That reinforces how important it is for us to listen carefully, understand what matters most to each person, and work with them in a way that feels right for them."

Her main goal moving forward is ensuring a seamless move-in experience for incoming residents.

"Our priority is to ensure every new resident has a smooth, positive experience, especially as we welcome residents to Blueridge Landing, the community's newest and final residence building," she explains. "It's an exciting time, but it's also a new experience, and our team is committed to providing the support and care that makes people feel confident in their decision."

Come visit!

As Windsor Run continues to grow, Bates is building on the team's strong foundation while exploring new opportunities to enhance the educational experience for prospective residents.

"I'm excited to explore new ideas and bolster our existing programs," she says, noting that visiting Windsor Run and experiencing the lifestyle firsthand remains the best way to learn more.

"The best way to know if a community is right for you is to visit," she explains. "We meet people at all stages, whether they're planning ahead or ready to move sooner, and our goal is to provide the information they need to make a confident decision."

A personal note

Outside of work, Bates enjoys staying active and spending time with her daughter, Vera, who is already familiar with Windsor Run's campus.

"She loves visiting the Sales Center, and she knows exactly where to find the ice cream here," she says, with a laugh.

Bates also recently became scuba-certified, completing her first dive in St. Thomas.

As she begins this next chapter of her career, Bates remains focused on supporting her team and helping future residents feel informed, confident, and excited about their decision to call Windsor Run home.
