2 SUV Fires, Stovetop Blaze Battled In Roslyn

ROSLYN, PA — Two vehicle fires and a stove fire kept the Roslyn Fire Company over the weekend.

Late Saturday afternoon, firefighters quickly extinguished a stovetop fire in the 1600 block of Franklin Avenue before it could spread further.

Firefighters — assisted by the Upper Moreland Township Fire Department and the Abington Fire Company — ventilated the home to remove smoke.

Fire officials said the homeowner acted quicly by calling 911. They urged residents that they should vacate their home immediately any time there is a cooking fire.

Meanwhile, the fire company handled two car fires on Friday.

At 6:03 a.m. firefighters and the Abington Fire Company put out a raging SUV fire at the intersection of Arline Avenue and Pershing Avenue.

At 4:02 p.m. the fire company and Weldon Fire Company found another SUV on fire in the 1000 block of Easton Road.
