Barnes & Noble Bookstore Opening In Abington

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A new Barnes & Noble is opening in the Noble Town Center this month, filling the void of the one that closed nearby in Willow Grove a few years ago.

The Barnes & Noble is opening the new bookstore at 905 Old York Road in the township's Jenkintown section on Sept. 16.

The renovated center has added three restaurants and a treatment center. They are Shake Shack, DIG, Honeygrow, and the treatment center Laser Away.

The new space was created by dividing a former Walgreen's into four separate slots, a property map shows.

The Noble Town Center is a popular shopping destination along Old York Road.

It's near the Fairway and has other shops including a Trader Joe's at its upper level, Ross Dress for Less mid-level, and ULTA Beauty, and PetSmart.

The bookstore will showcase the highly lauded bookstore design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings, featuring all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the national bookseller.

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful.

The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers.

A new location opened two years ago in the Barn Plaza Shopping Center in Warrington Township on the Doylestown Township line.
