Construction Projects Progressing At Cheltenham Schools

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — Summer construction work is progressing as the Cheltenham Township School District gets ready for the 2026-2027 school year.

The school district's facilities committee held its first meeting of the school year on Aug. 4 to discuss summer construction projects.

Director of Facilities and Maintenance Anthony Carter opened the meeting with a discussion on the installation of a new PECO transformer at the Administration Building.

Carter updated the committee on gym and hallway painting done by students, and work done at the stadium project site, including laying of track and installation of gates and cameras.

The district is awaiting word from the township fire marshal about attaining the certificate of occupancy, Carter said.

He said the Glenside project is on time and due to be completed by the end of this calendar year; and the Cedarbrook project is also on time.

Carter also said that the stadium, Cedarbrook and Glenside projects are all on budget.

The meeting finished with a discussion of the Center for Safe Schools assessments and the work that has been done based on its recommendations.

Completed work has included the installation of cameras in the CHS parking lot and athletic fields and Administration Building.

The districtwide project to upgrade and unify access control is also underway.
