Man Faces 11 Years In Prison For Philly Area Armored Truck Robberies

EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A Philadelphia man was sentenced for his role in multiple area robberies targeting armored trucks, including one in Elkins Park, federal authorities said.

Mujahid Davis, 24, of Philadelphia, was sentenced Tuesday to 11 years in prison, five years of supervised release, and $134,000 in restitution, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf said.

Davis pleaded guilty in March to two attempted robberies, two robberies, and one count of carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, authorities said.

Davis admitted to stealing $122,225 from Brinks, Inc., federal authorities said.

Federal authorities said that Davis was involved in the following robberies targeting armored trucks:

• July 2, 2025, robbery of a Brinks truck in Philadelphia
• July 15, 2025, attempted robbery of a Brinks truck in Philadelphia
• Aug. 12, 2025, robbery of a Brinks truck in Elkins Park
• Oct. 3, 2025, attempted robbery of a Brinks truck in Philadelphia.

Davis’s co-defendant, Dante Shackleford, 27, also of Philadelphia, pleaded guilty in April of this year to three attempted Hobbs Act robberies, one Hobbs Act robbery, and carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

Shackleford is scheduled to be sentenced later this month.
