Milling, Paving To Begin On Jenkintown Roads

JENKINTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Two borough roads will be milled and paved on Thursday and Friday.

Borough officials said that GoreCon Construction will begin milling and paving operations on Harper Avenue and the 100 Block of Cedar Street.

Milling will begin at Harper Avenue and York Road, then from the bottom of Cedar Street at Washington Lane to the Summit Intersection.

Paving will begin immediately after milling is completed, borough officials said.

The project is expected to take two days and then speed cushions and striping will be done, officials said.

The road closure is for the safety of the general public and the contractors performing work in the area.

During the milling operation residents will have limited access to their driveways.

While the paving material is being applied, the road will be closed to traffic until the paving material can be properly applied and is able to cool to a temperature safe for vehicular traffic.

Officials said residents should avoid the area and make plans to take an alternative route.
