Middle School Girls Writing Workshop: Unmuted: The Power of Her Pen

The Women’s Empowerment Series, Inc. announces the launch of Unmuted: The Power of Her Pen, a six-week writing course for middle school girls. Designed as more than a writing class, the course provides a brave, supportive space where students can transform lived experiences into literary power while building confidence, resilience, and self-advocacy skills.

The course will run on Tuesdays from October 6 through November 10, 2026.The program centers the student’s voice at a formative stage, helping participants write from their own perspectives rather than having others speak for them. Through creative writing, personal storytelling, recollections, editorials, and reflective exercises, students will develop tools to help express themselves with clarity, purpose, and power.

Participants will leave the course with more than a portfolio. They will complete the program as published authors with the confidence to take to their classrooms, communities, and future opportunities.

Families and students interested in participating in Unmuted:The Power of Her Pen are encouraged to register early, as space is limited.
