High-Profile Lawyer Charged With Assault On Main Line Walking Trail: Court Docs

He is accused of choking a woman and throwing her in the bushes along a walking trail in Bala Cynwyd, authorities said.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — A high-profile injury attorney was charged with assault after a domestic incident on a walking trail in Lower Merion, according to court documents.

A 911 caller reported a man choking a woman and throwing her into the bushes Sept. 3 along the Cynwyd Heritage Trail in Lower Merion, authorities said.

Tom Bosworth, 37, of Gladwyne, was identified as the suspect in the domestic incident.

A Lower Merion Police officer encountered Bosworth and the woman on the trail. The officer noticed redness to the woman's cheeks, discoloration of skin around her neck, and debris on her right leg consistent with foliage from a bush.

Bosworth was charged the next day with simple assault (a misdemeanor) and harassment (a summary offense). He was released on $15,000 unsecured bail.

Bosworth is a prominent injury attorney with a law firm in Philadelphia. He has a large social-media presence, with more than 300,000 followers on TikTok, where he goes by "Tommy the Lawyer."

His defense attorney, Adam Leasure, said Bosworth "maintains his innocence and has full confidence in the courts."
