Acclaimed Bagel Shop Coming Soon To Main Line

The Philly bakehouse known for its traditional craftsmanship and flavorful smoked fish will soon expand to the founding brothers' hometown.

BALA CYNWYD, PA — Bart's Bagels is bringing its handcrafted bagels and breakfast sandwiches to the Main Line later this month with the opening of a new shop in Bala Cynwyd.

The new location will be the Philadelphia-based company's third, joining its original shop in West Philadelphia and a second location in South Philadelphia that opened in 2024. The expansion marks a homecoming for founders Brett and Kyle Frankel, who grew up in Bala Cynwyd.

Founded in 2020, Bart's Bagels has built a following by sticking to traditional bagel-making techniques. The brothers' bagels are kettle-boiled, slowly cold-fermented and baked on burlap boards in a revolving oven, creating a chewy interior and crisp, golden-brown crust with seeds on both sides.
