Deadly Bala Cynwyd Hit-And-Run Driver Sentenced

BALA CYNWYD, PA — The man who fatally struck a woman in Bala Cynwyd and then drove off has learned his fate.
Jamal McCullough, 38, of Philadelphia, pleaded guilty to accidents involving death or personal injury in November last year. He struck Tracey E. Cary, 61, at 5 W. City Ave. in Bala Cynwyd at about 2:14 a.m. Nov. 11, 2024, then drove off.
Last week, McCullough was sentenced to 3 to 6 years in prison in Montgomery County court.

Cary, who used a wheelchair and was known to frequent the City Avenue corridor in Bala Cynwyd, was found suffering from critical injuries after the crash.
She was ejected from her wheelchair in the crash, then was tended to by officers and Narberth Medics before being taken to Lankenau Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Days later, Lower Merion Police said they found the striking vehicle, a Toyota Camry, and identified the driver as McCullough.
McCullough turned himself in to police in December 2024 in connection with the crash.
