Burglar Nabbed After Breaking Into Bensalem Home

Bensalem Police said the 40-year-old Philadelphia man had a connection to the family from a prior relationship.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 40-year-old Philadelphia man is in custody following a burglary at a township home on Thursday night in which he knew the occupants, police said.

Bensalem Police charged Keith Torpey of Philadelphia with burglary, criminal trespass, loitering and prowling at night.

Bensalem Police responded at 9:40 p.m. Thursday to the 2800 block of Forrest Avenue.

The homeowners told police that their home was broken into and some property was destroyed.

Torpey was caught on the homeowners’ surveillance cameras and was identified as someone from a prior relationship.

Police located Torpey a short distance from the scene, where he was arrested.

Torpey was arraigned with bail set at 10 percent of $25,000. He was then sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
