Neshaminy Mall Closing This Weekend

Bucks County's first shopping mecca will shut its doors after years of fewer shoppers at the Bensalem property, which will be redeveloped.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — After longtime patrons took one final walk this past weekend, the Neshaminy Mall will be closing this weekend.

Bucks County's first shopping mecca is expected to close on Saturday, with demolition planned on the property off Route 1 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike expected in December.

The mall has been operating for 58 years before falling on hard times over the past decade as shopping trends changed with more online purchases and fewer people visiting malls.

A community gathering was organized last Saturday, giving people one last chance to stroll the corridors before the mall closed.

While the mall will be demolished, the AMC-24 Movie Theater, Boscov’s and Barnes and Noble, will remain.

The Bucks County Redevelopment Authority is helping in the makeover of the 108.5 acre-site property located on Route 1 near the PA Turnpike.

The mall was sold in September 2024 to Paramount Realty.

The one-time shopping mecca lost a chuck of customers when anchor stores closed with Macy's in 2017 and Sears in 2018.

The Neshaminy Mall was also the site for circuses, ice rinks, and carnivals over the years.
