Canon-McMillian HS grad is TV news anchor in Florida

Taylor Petras (Class of 2011 Canon-McMillian High School) is a weekday morning anchor at WINK TV in Southwest Florida.

She wakes up at 2 a.m. and is on the air from 4:30 to 8 a.m. Her husband Patrick Moore is an account executive (sales) at WINK TV; they are parents of a 15-month-old toddler.

Petras and Moore met at Ohio University, where they gained experience at WOUB Public Media. Petras graduated in 2015 from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.

WINK TV, the primary CBS affiliate for Southwest Florida, recently moved into a new studio and offices south of Fort Myers.

At Canon-McMillian High School, Petras was a multi-year letter athlete in basketball and volleyball.
