DOYLESTOWN, PA - River Crossing YMCA will host its annual Kids Triathlon at the Doylestown branch on Sunday, August 9. The YMCA Kids Tri has been an annual event for the community since 2008.
The YMCA Kids Tri is a swim, bike and run event incorporating the pool, parking lots, and surrounding neighborhood streets. Courses are configured for six-15 year old age groups, and feature a special “WeeBees” course for three to five-year olds accompanied by an adult. This year’s event continues the annual “Compete to Complete” theme, encapsulating the spirit of inviting all youth to be the best versions of themselves in sport and life. A limited number of spots remain available for families to sign up.
“Competing to complete the annual kids tri is an achievement for all who participate,” shared Maddy Moore, Central Bucks region branch executive and director of the Kids Tri this year. “Our kids tri provides young athletes a celebration for preparation, goal-setting and the joy of accomplishment for their entire family.”
The “Kids Tri Village,” providing shaded areas, refreshments, and entertainment, offers participants and their families opportunities to learn more about “Y for All,” the Y’s commitment to providing program opportunities and removing barriers for all families. The Y recognizes that individuals, families, and communities are diverse, and is committed to fostering an environment where everyone belongs and succeeds. Activities include Bucks Bubbles Foam Party, bounce house, arts and crafts, and so much more.
For more information and to register, families may visit www.ymcarivercrossing.org/community-family/races/kids-tri. Proceeds raised by the Kids Triathlon support YMCA community impact health and wellness programs, as well as the Y’s financial assistance program, transforming millions of dollars into moments of impact for children and families across River Crossing YMCA service areas. Registration is currently open, but spots are selling quickly, and closes Saturday August 8.
