Central Bucks Superintendent Announces Community Forums

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks School District's new superintendent, Dr. Joanna Wexler, will be making the rounds in early October as she continues to acquaint herself with the school district and establish priorities and goals.

"One of my priorities during this first year as superintendent is listening to the perspectives of our parents, guardians, community members, teachers, staff members, and students, and learning more about what matters most to all of you," said Wexler in an email to the district this week.

The superintendent is inviting the public to join her at one or more of three upcoming community forums scheduled in October and taking place at key locations throughout the district.

The first will be held on Monday, Oct. 5 at Central Bucks West High School, 375 West Court Street, Doylestown.

The second will take place on Monday, Oct. 12 at Holicong Middle School, 2900 Holicong Road, Doylestown.

The final one is slated for Monday, Oct. 26 at Jamison Elementary School, 2090 Land Road, Jamison (Warwick Township).

Each forum will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and is designed to be informal and conversational.

"You are welcome to stop in at any point during that time to meet me, ask questions, share what is on your mind, or simply say hello," said the superintendent.

Attendees are asked to pre-register to help the district prepare for each event, but registration is not required, and walk-ins are welcome.

"I hope these forums provide another opportunity for us to connect and for me to hear directly from members of the Central Bucks community," said Wexler.

The forums are part of Wexler's "entry plan," which focuses on stakeholder engagement, organizational alignment, strategic priorities, communication, operational improvements, and financial stewardship.

During meetings with school and district administrators in August, Wexler said the district has begun connecting its comprehensive plan's priorities to goals within individual schools and departments.

"Our organizational review is already producing action, including through the restructuring of our Student Services Department into two director positions to provide dedicated leadership for special education and gifted support and for broader student services," she said. "This change reflects a recommendation from the external Student Services review completed last year."

She continued, "The next phase of this work will take me more deeply into our schools and community. We will be visiting for approximately 90 to 120 minutes at all 23 schools, including meaningful time in classrooms. I will also continue meeting with staff and community stakeholders, attending school and community events, and sharing regular video updates."
