Old School Barbershop Opens In Downtown Doylestown
"The desire is to make people look good because when people look good they feel good," the shop's manager said.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A new barbershop has opened its doors in the heart of Doylestown Borough.
Owner Ray Masciocchi of Doylestown and manager Paul Jarek of Quakertown have teamed up to offer traditional cuts and shaves at The Way Barber Co., an old school barbershop at 10 North Main Street behind Starbucks.
“The desire is to make people look good because when people look good they feel good,” said Jarek.

The two have renovated the space, installed new floors and ceiling and transformed the once empty location into a modernized, yet traditional barbershop complete with two chairs and an outside and inside barber pole.
The space even boasts a large bank vault with a thick heavy door, a remnant of a former use and a conversation piece at the new shop.

“It’s a really cool space,” said Jarek.

Owner Ray Masciocchi of Doylestown and manager Paul Jarek of Quakertown have teamed up to offer traditional cuts and shaves at The Way Barber Co.

“A lot of times you go into a barbershop for a quick haircut with nothing much attached to it. We’re looking to raise the bar when it comes to the client experience,” Jarek explains.
“When someone comes in - from beginning to end - we want to build a relationship. We want people to feel comfortable in what they are receiving," he said. "We do a hot razor on the back of the neck and a hot towel. That’s part of the experience too and it comes with the haircuts. We also offer a complementary local beer, soda or water.”
The new shop specializes in tailored haircuts, including skin fades, taper cuts, and precise grooming services to enhance each client's appearance.
Services include a hot lather head and face shave, a traditional shave, a classic haircut, a haircut and beard trim, a hot lather head shave, beard trim, haircut and straight shave, and kids haircuts. They also offer steam facials for men and women.
“I always say we don’t don’t cut men’s and women’s hair. We cut long and short hair,”said Jarek. “When it comes to longer hair, we can accommodate basic trims, cleanups and layers.”
Jarek, who grew up in Delaware County and now lives in Quakertown, met Masciocchi about five years ago while attending the Modern Male Barber Academy in Lansdale and then working for its affiliated barbershops in Bucks and Montgomery counties.
“I also got my license in barber instructing and taught three to four years at the school,” said Jarek. “Ray had also worked for the shops that were affiliated with the school.”

One day Masciocchi, a native of Doylestown, decided he wanted to branch out and do his own thing. So he reached out to his school friend with the idea of opening their own place.
“Since we were both close he had reached out to me. The dream took off from there,” said Jarek.
Jarek invites everyone to stop by and experience the shop for themselves.
“We love to just connect with people in general, even if they’re just coming to see the shop," said Jarek.
"Every client can expect personalized care that leaves them feeling confident and satisfied," he said. "We pride ourselves on our ability to create styles that reflect individual preferences while maintaining the highest standards of service. Your experience with us is not just a haircut; it's an investment in your confidence."
Hours at the new shop are Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information, call 267-991-3161. The shop can accommodate walk-ins, but they encourage booking reservations online.
