Peddler's Village Celebrates The 4th With Red, White, And Blueberries
The July 4 event in Lahaska includes barbecue, live music, family activities and blueberry-themed food and drinks.

LAHASKA, PA —Peddler's Village will celebrate the Fourth of July with its "Red, White, and Blueberries BBQ Bash" on Saturday, July 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature barbecue, live music, games, and family activities across the property.
"We’ll be serving up all-American grilled favorites and featuring music and family fun. Enjoy festive and upbeat music, including patriotic favorites, and try to win a prize competing in old-fashioned games," said village officials.
Activities are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Red Barn Field, including the Stars & Stripes Strut, sand art, face painting, lawn games, hula hoops, a photo opportunity area and bubble making.

The Stars and Stripes Strut is a chance to “show off your most creative, spirited, and star-spangled outfits in celebration of Independence Day,” with prizes for best costume.
"Wave your flags and wear your red, white, and blue! The Stars and Stripes Strut is your chance to show off your most creative, spirited, and star-spangled outfits in celebration of Independence Day," said event organizers. "Whether you’re channeling Lady Liberty, Uncle Sam, or the American Flag, this is your moment to shine!"

Also from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Street Road Green will host a Gel Blaster Battlefield and ThrowHouse Axe Throwing. A watermelon-eating contest is scheduled for 1 and 2:30 p.m. at Red Barn Field, while old-fashioned games are set for noon to 2:30 p.m.
Music is also planned in two locations. A DJ is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Red Barn Field, and the Galena Brass Band is set to perform from noon to 3 p.m. at the Gazebo.
Food will be a major part of the event. A BBQ Food Tent will be serving smoked turkey legs, BBQ chicken sandwiches, a BBQ rib platter, cheeseburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, salads, watermelon cubes, blueberry cobbler cookies, blueberry lemonade, blueberry sangria and beer.
Corny Corner will offer corn on the cob in three styles, along with blueberry lemonade and blueberry cobbler cookies.
The Visitor & Event Center will sell fresh blueberry pies, blueberry butter, blueberry fruit spread and BBQ sauces. Bacon on a Stick is also listed among the food offerings.
While at the village, don't miss the sand sculpture display, “Sights in Sand: An American Road Trip,” which continues through Aug. 31 and features larger-than-life sand sculptures tied to landmarks and U.S. history.
An additional Waterwheel Food Tent is scheduled for Sunday, July 5, only, from noon to 4 p.m., with blueberry barbecue brisket sandwiches, blueberry walking tacos, blueberry chicken salad and other items.
