Teen Arrested For Multiple Thefts At Warrington Wegmans Store

WARRINGTON, PA — A 17-year-old Philadelphia boy has been petitioned to juvenile court after being accused of multiple retail thefts at the Warrington Wegmans store.

On Sept. 11, police were called to the grocery store for a report of a retail theft in progress.

Loss prevention employees at the store reported that a 17-year-old boy from Philadelphia, who works for DoorDash, was observed intentionally skipping multiple items, including a ribeye steak and a candle, while scanning merchandise.

The boy then exited the store without paying for $63.09 worth of merchandise. He was detained and escorted back to the store’s office, where officers identified him.

During the investigation, loss prevention reported that the same juvenile was responsible for several other retail thefts at Wegmans.

On Aug. 14, police said he failed to pay for $6.50 worth of merchandise. On Aug. 22, police said he stole an air fryer valued at $139.99. On Aug. 29, he failed to pay for $63.98 worth of merchandise, and on Aug. 30, he stole an additional $17.48 worth of merchandise, police said.

Police arrested the boy and transported him to the police station, where he was processed and released to a family member. A petition was filed with Juvenile Court.
