HBO's 'Task', Starring Mark Ruffalo, To Film At Diner In Delco

UPPER DARBY, PA — HBO's "Task" is returning to a Delaware County landmark for Season 2 filming next week.

The series, which is nominated for six Primetime Emmys, will film scenes in and around the Llanerch Diner. Production is expected to begin at 7 a.m. Aug. 31 and carry into the next day, according to Upper Darby Township.

"Task" follows FBI agent Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo), who leads a task force in the working-class Philadelphia suburbs to investigate a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspected family man.

Creator Brad Ingelsby has deep ties to the region, growing up in Berwyn and attending Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor. He later graduated from Villanova University.

The show's first season is set in Havertown, with filming taking place throughout the region.

"We filmed it in Aston, Coatesville, Broomall, Wissahickon Valley Park, the Llanerch Diner, Chester County, a Rita’s, the old Philadelphia Roundhouse, and Ralph’s in the Italian Market," Ingelsby told Philly Mag.

Filming for Season 2 began last month, taking place in Philadelphia's Manayunk neighborhood and different parts of Delco.

The season premiere date hasn't been announced.
