James H. Martin, 82, Korean War Veteran, Former Contractor [Obituary]

James H. Martin, 82, of Hellertown died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at his residence.

James H. Martin, 82, of Hellertown diedΒ Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014Β at his residence. He was the husband of Eleanor S. (Boehm) Martin. James was born in Bethlehem on Sept. 1, 1931 to the late Henry A. and Bertha F. (Mirth) Martin. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of James H. Martin Mason Contractor for many years until retirement. He attended Ebenezer New Reformed Church, Bingen, Lower Saucon Township,Β and was a member of the Edward H. Ackerman American LegionΒ Post 397, Hellertown. Jim enjoyed retirement, spending countless hours with his putz and train sets. He was also an avid fisherman.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 54 years; children: Paul H. (Dori A.) Arnold of Hellertown, Kathleen A. (Craig M) Stoudt of Bethlehem, Donna L. Chiles of Hellertown, Stephanie D. (Wayne A.) Cawley of Hellertown; sister: Dolores Kerecz of Bethlehem; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two siblings: John G. and Dorothy Fragano.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to callΒ from noon toΒ 1 p.m. FridayΒ at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will beΒ followed by the service atΒ 1 p.m. The service willΒ conclude with military honors. The Rev. Keith F. Easley will officiate.
