Lockdown Lifted At Hatboro-Horsham High School
The high school and Simmons Elementary were on lockdown following a threat Monday that other school districts received in the Philly region.
HATBORO / HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Hatboro-Horsham School District was among school districts throughout the Philadelphia region and country to receive a "swatting" threat on Monday.
School officials said at 10 a.m. on Monday, Hatboro-Horsham High School received a call consistent with these reports.
"We received information from the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety regarding a series of fake threats being made to school districts across the region," officials said. "Several neighboring school districts have reported receiving similar calls today."

School officials said that out of an abundance of caution, the high school and Simmons Elementary School have been placed on lockdown, which was later lifted.
Just before 11 a.m. on Monday, the Horsham Police Department deemed the threat was unfounded and not credible, and there was no safety concern.

Based on this determination, law enforcement cleared the school to resume normal activities, school officials said.
Horsham Police was on site immediately, assessed the credibility of the call, and conducted a thorough evaluation of the interior and exterior of the school campus to reach this conclusion.
"We appreciate the swift and supportive response of the Horsham Police. Throughout the lockout, everyone was safe and school continued. Nonetheless, we recognize the impact this has on our school community," school officials said.
Administration and counselors are available for any student who may need additional support.
"We regret that our school community experienced this event this morning," school officials said.
