Longtime Hatboro Borough Councilman Plans To Resign

HATBORO, PA — Longtime Borough Councilman George Bollendorf has announced his plans to resign from the seven-member board.

Bollendorf's resignation is on the Hatboro Borough Council agenda for its meeting on Monday night.

The council will hold a special meeting on April 8 to name Bollendorf's replacement.

At the council's last meeting of the year in December, Bollendorf announced that he would be stepping down as council president after eight years in the position.

Bollendorf joined the Borough Council after being elected in 2018. He was re-elected in November and started his third term on Jan. 1.

During his tenure as council president, Bollendorf presided over almost every council meeting, missing only two meetings in the past eight years.

Bollendorf also worked with every council committee to ensure they received the support and guidance. He also created the Pennypack Events Committee and worked to spearhead events such as the Sip N Shops, Parties in the Park, Fireworks, and the upcoming Hat Drop.
