Maple Glen Triangle Traffic Improvements Underway

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — If you drive through the Maple Glen Triangle on a regular basis, you might not have even noticed the change.

The constant clutter of cars and vehicles at the intersection of Welsh Road and Norristown Road causes major backups during the morning and evening rush hours. And with vehicles making turns there, the chances of an accident can happen at any time.

Some of those traffic troubles have now been alleviated.

Horsham Township has made traffic signal changes at Welsh Road and Norristown Road

There will be new protected left turn signals in both directions on Norristown Road for vehicles making left turns onto Welsh Road.

There will be a new right-turn-only lane for vehicles making right turns onto Welsh Road.

Township officials said the project will make the intersection safer.

The project is not complete. Road line painting was delayed due to the recent inclement weather.

Officials ask drivers to be attentive to the new signals, new lanes, and new traffic signal timing sequence.
