5 Points Intersection To Shut Down In June, July

Additional delays should be expected on detour routes and near the intersection on several dates this summer.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — The Five Points Intersection will shut down in Montgomery Township for several periods in late June and early July.

It's part of the ongoing $14.6 million intersection improvement project.

Milling and "final paving" will be completed during the next burst of work. When completed, the intersection will be expanded from 15 to 18 travel lanes and will include new sidewalks, new traffic signals, ADA curb ramps, drainage improvements, better signage, and more.

A schedule of work and impacts is below:

  • June 28 to July 2, from 11 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. - Intersection closed to through traffic
  • June 29 to July 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Periodic since lane closures on approaching roadways
  • July 12 to July 16, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. - Intersection closed to through traffic

Detour signs will be posted.
