Lansdale On 'The Late Show': How A Funeral Home's Board Game Night Put Town On National Stage
Stephen Colbert and Amanda Seyfried turned the focus of their small town America segment this week to the Philly burbs.

LANSDALE, PA — Communities in Montgomery and Bucks counties took center stage on national television this week thanks to Stephen Colbert, The Late Show, and a little help from a local celebrity.
Colbert's guest Tuesday night was Golden Globe-winning actress Amanda Seyfried, a native of Allentown.
Because of Seyfried's local roots, the focus of the show's satirical "community calendar" segment was eastern Pennsylvania. The calendar bit typically features Colbert and his guest mockingly but lovingly running through a list of bizarre local events in small towns around the country.

One of those events was the upcoming board game night at Naugle Funeral and Cremation Service in Quakertown. The event is organized and co-hosted by the Lansdale PA Board Game Group, which typically hosts events around the greater North Penn region.
"Great news for anyone who said, 'Settlers of Cataan?' I'd rather be dead,'" Colbert said.

"I've never been there," Seyfried deadpanned, referencing Naugle Funeral and Cremation Service.
The event is set for Friday, Jan. 16.
"Join us for a board game night in Quakertown!" reads the Facebook event, a screenshot of which appeared on the Late Show. "If you are new to the modern board gaming hobby, don't worry. There are a lot of friendly, fellow adults in this group that will happily teach you a game they've brought. We always try to align interests and game complexity to the gamer. Make some new friends, share a lot of laughs, and play some great games. Join us!"
