North Penn Fire, VMSC Receive $31,000 In Funding

Local crews have received a crucial funding boost from the state.

LANSDALE, PA — Fire and emergency crews around the greater Lansdale area have received a major funding boost from the state, officials announced.

The North Penn Volunteer Fire Company will receive $14,694, while the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale will receive $15,000, State Sen. Maria Collett said.

In addition, Montgomery Twp Dept of Fire Services, the Fire Dept. of Montgomery Township, and the Hatfield Volunteer Fire Co. 1 will each receive $16,137.

“All of us deserve to feel safe in our homes, at work and in our communities,” Collett said. “We owe that sense of safety to the local firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and other first responders who have bravely answered the call to service. I’m proud to support these grants each year to secure the equipment and training our fire companies and EMS providers need to protect themselves and our communities.”

Several other local fire departments and EMS received similar funding.

Funds will be used to improve and manage facilities, buy new equipment, organize training and education, and more.

The funding comes from the state's Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program
