4.6% Tax Hike Approved In Bristol Twp. School Budget

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — Residents will pay nearly $200 more in taxes after the Bristol Township School Board approved the district's 2026-2027 school budget.

The school board approved a $179,059,819 budget at its June meeting that includes a 4.6 percent tax increase and raises the real estate millage rate from 226.742 to 237.1744.

A homeowner with an average assessment will pay $196.09 more in taxes this year, or $16.34 more a month.

School officials said the budget is a $2 million reduction from last year’s budget despite the tax increase.

The district is eliminating 26 positions along with the reductions coming from retirements and attrition.

The school district serves about 6,000 students.
