The longtime GOP legislator lost in Tuesday's general election to Democratic challenger Eileen Hartnett Albillar.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — After losing a close election to retain his seat in the 6th Senatorial District, State Sen. Frank Farry sat down on his couch and watched the Philadelphia 76ers with his family on Wednesday night.
Farry narrowly lost Tuesday's general election to Democrat Eileen Hartnett Albillar.
"First of all, it has been such an honor to represent you first in the House and then in the Senate," the longtime Republican legislator said. "To work with you and on behalf of you is something I always took seriously and put in seven days of work every week."

"Obviously, the results are not what we and many of you wanted," he said. "Thank you for all of the efforts and support both over the years and during this race. Many of you stepped in to the uncomfortable and sometimes hostile current state of politics to be public in your support of me and that means so much."
Farry congratulated his opponent and wished her well in serving the residents representing in the 6tth Senatorial District.
Albillar, 52, is the Bucks County Clerk of Courts. She also served for five years on the Warrington Township Board of Supervisors.
Farry thanked his family for making sacrifices over the years and promised to spend more time with them once his term ends at the end of the year.
"Reflecting today as I got to spend time with you after school when we could just play and be together, which was so rare before, further reinforced your sacrifice and our love," he said. "A lot was learned by us over the last many months, some good and some not so good. I hope we can all continue to grow together and make up some of that lost time and experiences."
Farry noted a final thought that he hopes the community can "work towards a little bit more kindness to one another."
Election results are unofficial until certified by the Bucks County Board of Elections.
The 6th Senatorial District includes Bensalem Township, Lower Southampton Township, Middletown Township, Northampton Township, Upper Southampton Township, Warminster Township, Warrington Township, and Wrightstown.
