90-Year-Old Bridge Over Skippack Creek Being Replaced
Work will get underway in August on the structure dating back to 1935.
SKIPPACK TOWNSHIP, PA — Construction work will get underway on a bridge replacement Route 73 in Skippack Township in August, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.
A lane of Skippack Pike be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 11 and Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The lane closure will be in place from Old Forty Foot Road to Kerr Road.

The current two-span concrete T-beam structure is 90 years old.
It will be replaced with a single span concrete Bulb-tee bridge. When complete, it will measure 104 feet long and 52 feet wide and will carry two 12 foot travel lanes and two 8 foot shoulders.

The bridge carries the highway over Skippack Creek.
