Upper Providence Gets $466,000 To Improve Intersections, Traffic Lights

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — Upper Providence and Lower Providence have received hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to improve traffic signals at intersections around the area.

The $466,760 in funding for Upper Providence from the state's "Green Light-Go” program that aims to improve safety and reduce congestion on key roadways across the state.

Specifically, funds will help improve 8 intersections identified in the township's "high injury network" where vehicular crashes are common.

Those intersections include Egypt Road and Route 8005 Ramp C and D, Egypt Road and Cider Mill Road, Ridge Pike and Township Line Road, Ridge Pike and Court Driveway, Collegeville Road and Arcola Road, Collegeville Road and Black Rock Road, Township Line Road and Linfield Trappe Road, and Township Line Road, S, Court Driveway, and S. Limerick Square Driveway.

Lower Providence, similarly, will receive $326,449.40 to improve the Pawlings Road and Audubon Road intersection. That intersection will have improved left turn phasing and detection, as well as pedestrian upgrades.
