This foundational class explores the essential principles of proper body mechanics for massage therapists, focusing on posture, alignment, balance, and efficient movement. Students will learn how to use their body weight effectively, prevent strain and injury, and develop sustainable techniques that support long-term career health. The course also introduces practical self-care strategies—including stretching, strengthening, breath awareness, and recovery practices—to promote physical resilience, mental clarity, and professional longevity. This class builds awareness, confidence, and healthy habits from the very beginning. 

In this interactive hands-on BASIC Introductory class, you will learn:

1. Description of the Modality

2. Account of its historical development

3. Benefits & Contraindications

4. Specific techniques for basic training

• Please wear comfortable flexible clothing.

• Bring a set of sheets, pillowcase or face cradle cover, blanket, and pump bottle with your preferred lotion or cream.

• You Do NOT need to bring a table, we have plenty!

This class is with current massage students but only licensed massage therapists will receive continuing education credits.
