Main Line Private School Cancels Class As Police Investigate Social-Media Threat
Local police are investigating the social-media threat with the District Attorney's Office and Sheriff's Office.
WILLISTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Class was canceled Friday at a Main Line private school as police investigated a threat.
The threat, made Thursday night on social media, was directed at Villa Maria Academy, according to Willistown Township Police.
Villa Maria Academy High School issued a notice to parents Thursday night that class was canceled.

"Families should refer to the school communication sent Thursday evening for more information," the institution said on social media.
Villa Maria's Lower School wasn't impacted.

Willistown Police are investigating the threat with the Chester County Sheriff's Office and District Attorney's Office.
The threat appears to be an isolated incident, and investigators don't believe there is any active danger, police said.
Police say they're taking precautions to ensure that Villa Maria will reopen Monday.
Villa Maria Academy is a Catholic college-prep school for girls.
