Restaurant Permanently Closes In Media As Struggling Chain Shutters Locations

MEDIA, PA — A Wendy's in Media has permanently closed as the fast-food chain shuts down restaurants around the nation.

The location at 294 E Baltimore Ave. shuttered in recent weeks. Restaurant-goers are advised to visit the nearby location on Pennel Road in Media.

Earlier this year, Wendy's announced plans to close hundreds of "underperforming" restaurants in the first half of 2026 — about 5 percent of its nearly 6,000 locations at the time.

Online archives show the struggling chain has removed about 200 U.S. restaurants from its listed locations in the past few months.

It's unclear when the Media location shuttered. But social-media chatter about the closure seems to go back to early May.
