East Suburban Artists League meeting features Laura Patchen, Artist & Accessibility Advocate

Event Details
The East Suburban Artists League (ESAL) Thursday, November 5, meeting features Laura Patchen, artist and advocate for accessibility and inclusivity in our communities.
Laura is a self-taught acrylic painter whose work focuses primarily on landscapes and still-life scenes inspired by places she has visited and objects that hold personal meaning. She recently exhibited her work in the Monroeville Public Library’s Elaine Biondi Gallery Space and at the juried Westmoreland Art Nationals.
As a woman living with the challenges of multiple sclerosis, Laura advocates for accessibility and inclusivity in our communities. During her presentation, she will also share paintings, inspiration, and insights from her associate and friend who is an artist with progressive vision loss.
Since Laura is only able to paint in short sessions, her art brings her a sense of accomplishment and happiness, and has become an important source of creativity and fulfillment.
The public is invited to this free presentation which will take place at Christ's Lutheran Church, 5330 Old Logan Ferry Road, Murrysville, in the lower-level meeting room, on Thursday, November 5.
Social time 6pm; Business meeting 6:15pm; Art “show and tell” 7:15pm; Presentation 7:30-8:30pm
ESAL, composed of photographers and artists working in all media, aims to foster arts and crafts and to educate, inspire and encourage artists and patrons in Pittsburgh’s eastern suburbs.
