Local Writer Gives Back: Salon to Benefit Friends of the Library
Friends of the Free Library host a Writer's Salon to celebrate Steven Fisher's new novel, with proceeds supporting local library programs

NEW HOPE, PA, February 2, 2026—The Friends of the Free Library of New Hope and Solebury will host a Writer’s Salon for local author Steven Fisher to celebrate the launch of his second novel, Killer Urge. The event will be held at the Logan Inn in New Hope on Sunday, February 15, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Fisher, who refers to himself as a business owner and CEO by day and a serial killer writer by night, has spent decades leading companies in the high-stakes world of technology. At the age of seventy-three, he returned to school to pursue a master’s degree in creative writing. His first novel, Killer Personality, followed not long after.
Killer Urge is the second in a series that follows Kevin Mathers, a complex protagonist who embarks on a hunt for a serial killer after a hiker is found murdered in a park. His search takes him through Eastern Pennsylvania, where readers will find settings that feel familiar.

“My studio, where all the books are” is how Fisher describes The Free Library of New Hope and Solebury. He notes, “It is not an accident that my wife and I live in New Hope. I want to be a part of my community here.” He adds, “For me to be successful, it really starts at home with the library.”
Profits from the book sales will support the Friends of the Free Library of New Hope and Solebury, a non-profit that raises funds for library programs. The salon will be held in the intimate theater at the historic Logan Inn, where Fisher will entertain guests with readings from his book.
