New Hope for Old Cats

All the world loves a roly-poly kitten. But what becomes of gentle old cats who never found a family? Tabby’s Place hopes they’ll find compassion from our community.

Starting June 1, donations to the Remember the Seniors Fund Drive will be doubled, up to $150,000. As a sanctuary for the hopeless, Tabby’s Place embraces seniors with no one on their side.

Elderly cats are uniquely vulnerable, with delicate medical needs increasing just as their odds of adoption decline. Many become homeless and heartbroken all at once, when a beloved person passes away.

Few shelters can accommodate elderly pets long-term, especially if these “grandma” and “grandpa” cats have such costly conditions as diabetes or kidney disease.

But these soulful seniors still have so much love to give, and Tabby’s Place is their champion. The cage-free sanctuary refuses the concept of “unadoptable,” regularly placing elderly cats in loving homes.

For seniors who never find their perfect match, Tabby’s Place becomes their forever family. This is a life-saving promise to cats like Tux, who has thrived for ten years at the sanctuary.

Now 23 years old, Tux still dotes on kittens, comforts fearful cats, and snuggles up to anyone with a heavy heart. The empathetic elder is living the best days of his life.

Gifts to Remember the Seniors will provide medical care and unconditional love for at-risk cats, enabling Tabby’s Place to welcome seniors with nowhere else to turn.
