Temporary Shutdowns Scheduled At 2 New Hope Area Bridges

NEW HOPE, PA — The Centre Bridge-Stockton and New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridges are scheduled to be shut down to all vehicular traffic for respective 30-minute-long durations on Thursday, Oct. 1, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) announced on Monday.

The temporary traffic closures will occur at different times at each bridge sometime between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The non-concurrent short-duration closure periods will enable commission maintenance personnel to repaint the centerlines on each bridge. The bridges’ pedestrian walkways will remain open.

During each respective vehicular closure period, new yellow centerlines will be applied and cones will be placed to shield the lines from traffic while drying occurs. The drying process can take up to two hours.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and choose alternate routes to avoid travel delays while bridge vehicular lanes are temporarily closed.

The two closest Delaware River vehicular bridges to the Centre Bridge-Stockton Toll-Supported Bridge are the New Hope-Lambertville (Route 202) Toll Bridge to the south and the Uhlerstown-Frenchtown Toll-Supported Bridge to the north. The two closest Delaware River vehicular bridges to the New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridge are the Washington Crossing Toll-Supported Bridge to the south and the New Hope-Lambertville (Route 202) Toll Bridge to the north.

The scheduled temporary bridge traffic closures are subject to change due to weather, emergencies, and other factors.
