If you need a pause for peace before the holiday hubbub, follow the sound of one hundred fifty purrs.
If you need a pause for peace before the holiday hubbub, follow the sound of one hundred fifty purrs, as Tabby’s Place: a Cat Sanctuary hosts Thanksgiving with the Cats on Saturday, 11/22, from 12-4pm.
This will mark the 6th year for the event, which brings tenderhearted people from near and far. Cat lovers can enjoy the cozy company of Tabby’s Place’s snuggly residents, savor festive refreshments, and do a little holiday shopping for their own feline families.
Guests will have the opportunity to feed the Tabby’s Place cats a special turkey dinner, take tours of the one-of-a-kind sanctuary, and meet feline “celebrities,” like 16-year-old Steven, the quintessential Tabby’s Place cat.

Steven has been a resident of the sanctuary since kittenhood. Living with advanced medical and behavioral needs, the sweet cinnamon senior would have little hope elsewhere. But Tabby’s Place is a joyful haven for cats with nowhere to turn, and Steven is thriving in his golden years.
Thanksgiving with the Cats is free to attend, and no reservations are required. But donations are greatly appreciated and will help to nurture the sanctuary’s 150 cats.

About Tabby’s Place
Since 2003, Tabby’s Place, www.tabbysplace.org, has been a world class, cage-free sanctuary for cats from hopeless situations.
Tabby’s Place embraces the neediest cats regardless of age, medical issues, or temperament, making it a harbor of hope for the most desperate, with a particular focus on Advanced Needs cats. At any given time, 30-40% of Tabby’s Place’s residents have chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and paraplegia. Most of the sanctuary’s cats are simply “normal,” healthy cats who ran out of time in desperate circumstances, and nearly all 150 residents are available for adoption.
The sanctuary is a uniquely nurturing environment, providing the tenderness, patience and personalized care cats need to trust people, whatever their past. The physical facility supports this level of care, having been designed from the ground up to meet cats’ needs and delight their senses with bright, open suites; continuous fresh air; and safe access to outdoor solaria.
Love and grace characterize Tabby’s Place’s interactions with everyone it encounters, feline or otherwise. The Tabby’s Place team strives to treat each person and cat with respect, compassion, and generosity of spirit.
Tabby’s Place is a registered 501(c)3 charity with a prestigious four-star rating from Charity Navigator, demonstrating an impeccable commitment to accountability, integrity, and financial responsibility.
